How does the information in the box "a day in the life (of me)" help the reader understand the article?The information from the box helps the reader understand the article by showing the reader what her day is like and compare their life to her life, and see how much harder/easier her life is compared to our life. For example, she sews patches on clothes. We buy clothes that have patches already sewed on.
